Tyler Area Builders Association
Board of Directors meets at 4:00 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month.

Executive Committee meets at 11:30 a.m. the first Monday of each month.

Comprised of President, Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer, Past President, Associate Council President and Executive Officer. Serves as a management team, making recommendations to the Board of Directors and conducting the day-to-day business of the Association.

Associate Council
Chairman - Jion Dietz

Serves as the liason between the Builders and Associates. Develops programs and events to promote relationships and networking opportunities with Builder members.

Budget & Finance Committee - Meets last Monday of each month at 4 p.m.
Chairman - Ed Thompson

Develops and monitors the annual budget for the Association. Monitors Association's investments. Develops and oversees Budget & Finance policies and investment strategies for approval by the Board of Directors.

Charitable Contributions Committee - As called by Chairman
Chairman - Jesse Rider

Reviews all requests for charitable contributions or activities. Recommends for Board of Director approval which organizations should receive a portion of the proceeds from the Parade of Homes™ or any other charitable donation.

Education Committee - Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m.
Chairman - Kerry Hamblett

Develops national, state and local educational programs of interest to the members. Seeks and recommends opportunities to promote educational activities within the local school districts or colleges and universities.

Government Relations Committee - Meets quarterly on the second Tuesday of that month at 2 p.m.  Chairman - John Nix

Oversees and coordinates the governmental affairs activities of the Association in order to execute public policies and objectives of the Association and the industry. Updates members concerning specific issues facing the building industry. Keeps members informed of legislative issues on the local, state and national levels. Works and meets with the governmental officials within the community on matters concerning local building codes, ordinances, rules and regulations affecting the building industry. Monitors HOMEPAC goal set by the Texas Association of Builders.

Home Products Show Committee - As called by Chairman
Chairman - Jeff Cross

Develops, produces and oversees all aspects of the annual show. Arranges seminars, entertainment, Preview Party and booth sales.

Membership Committee - Meets the Thursday prior to each Board of Directors meeting at 1 p.m.
Chairman - Ed Kopal

The Secretary/Treasurer serves as Chairman. Approves membership application, making recommendations to the Board of Directors. Identifies and recruits new members, promotes involvement in all Association programs and activities, and plans and executes the annual Membership Drive. Works on retention activities and renewals of memberships.

Nominating Committee - As called by Chairman
Chairman - Robert Aiken

The Immediate Past President serves as Chairman. Recruits candidates for the Board of Directors, state Directors, national Directors and candidates for office in accordance with the Association's by-laws. Submits recommended slate of officers, directors and state and national board members for approval by the Board of Directors.

Oversight Committee - Quarterly as called by Chairman
Chairman - Libby Simmons

Reviews the Association's Strategic Plan and makes sure it is being followed. Plans and oversees the annual Board retreat.

Parade of Homes™ - As called by Chairman
Chairman - Carlton Edwards

The Vice President serves as Chairman. The Committee includes, but is not limited to, the Executive Committee, two Builder members and two Associate members. Reviews the Builder/Association agreement annually. Makes any recommendation for changes of policies for the event.

Past Presidents - As called by Chairman
Chairman - Robert Aiken

Keeps Past Presidents involved and utilizes their experience in Association affairs.

Public Relations Committee - Meets the last Monday of each month at 2 p.m.
Chairman - Brandon Parker

Develops advertising programs that promote the Association. Oversees development and upkeep of web pages, encourages links with community groups, and oversees the production of the Association's newsletter. Suggests and oversees promotional activities.

Social Events Committee - Meets the first Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m.
Chairman -Shelley Flowers

Develops and manages the special events of the Association, including general meetings, bowling tournament, golf tournaments, the Holiday Gala and any other social events. Develops and coordinates recognition programs and networking opportunities between Builders and Associate members.
